1. Set up
When you sign in to Equibot, you will be presented with the dashboard. The dashboard is essentially a repository of all announcements triggered by your keywords in the last 72 hours, it is updated on a real time basis and permits you to download announcements directly in word form. When you login for the first time, the dashboard will be empty.
Once you have specified your keywords, alerts will start to get populated in the dashboard on real time basis. So let us get started with specifying keywords.
2. BSE Announcements Alerts Tool
Equibot filters BSE and NSE announcements, including the NSE Emerge segment. Equibot is the only tool to offer filters for NSE Emerge announcements. In this screenshot, you are on the BSE Keywords tab on the left. You can add any keyword to this page, and Equibot will look for it in the description of every announcement uploaded to the stock exchanges. In the next screenshot, let’s see what all you can do here.
4.1 Live and Daily Alerts
When you specify a keyword, you can choose to get live or daily updates. Live updates will deliver the alert to your inbox on real time basis, while the daily option will give you a summary email at the end of the day to peruse at your leisure.
In this screenshot, you can see the user has added a number of keywords for tracking. These are not pre-set keywords and you can specify any word, term or expression you like.
Let’s now see how you will be getting alerts if you choose the live or daily option.
Here are two screenshots showing live and daily updates. On the left, you can see emails delivered by Equibot when any of your keywords is triggered.
Every mail contains the name of the company and the keyword in the subject. Each email is dispatched within seconds of being uploaded on the exchanges.
On the right is a screenshot of the daily update, which consolidates your alerts into a single PDF delivered to your inbox. Both these options have a use for different types of investors – those looking to only track periodically can choose the daily option for a single consolidated update, whereas those preferring faster alerts can choose the live option.
Emails allow you to at a glance note all relevant
information regarding an announcement using the email subject itself.
Type of announcement:
[BSE] – BSE Announcement Alert
[NSE Emerge] – NSE SME Segment Announcement Alert
[BSE Insider Deals] – Insider Trade Tool Alert
[NSE Bulk / Block Deals] – Alert for keyword trigger on NSE Bulk / Block deals
[BSE Bulk / Block Deals] – Alert for keyword trigger on BSE Bulk / Block deals

5. How to use Alerts Dashboard
Okay, so you have specified your keywords and started receiving alerts through email. We now come back to the dashboard. Let’s see how you can use the dashboard effectively.
If you have specified many or commonly triggered keywords, you will generate many alerts during the day. In the dashboard, you can choose to see alerts by every keyword. For example, if you wish to see all the press releases uploaded on the exchanges today, you click the keyword column and select “press release”. The dashboard will instantly hide all alerts except those for the keyword “press release”. You can do this with every keyword or even several types of keywords.
Apart from filtering the results by keyword, you can also simply search for any word or expression and Equibot will filter the results for you.
The dashboard also has an in-built feature to facilitate easy copy/paste to Excel or Word.
6. How to set up Bulk/ Block Deal Tool
Now we come to our next tool, the bulk and block deal keywords. This tool essentially allows you to specify names of investors, funds or companies that you want to track through their bulk or block deals on the exchanges. Accordingly, you can choose to be informed of any bulk or block deal in a particular company, or a bulk / block deal undertaken by a particular institution or even an HNI. In our experience, this tool is great for tracking specific individuals and funds in the market.
7. Promoter Movement Tool ( Under Development)
8. Insider Trade Tool
The insider trade tool allows users to set keywords to track insider transactions by the name of the company itself.
Users can also choose to use combinations such as name of the company and specify alerts only for selling by employees / KMP / promoters. This tool generates a consolidated report at the end of the day based on alerts triggered in the exchange data.
